What your Parish Council do for the Community
How we make decisions and where to find the information
Items for discussion and consideration are raised on the agenda for the next meeting. This includes planning applications, changes to footpaths , highway issues etc. Councillors vote with a show of hands. All items and resolutions are minuted.
What we spend and how we spend it - information can be found in the following:
In the past year we have granted funds toward:
Funded the planting of daffodil bulbs around the village
Ripple Community Grant Fund
The Parish Council has a modest fund aimed at helping community groups and organisations do things for the benefit of the community and we would encourage anyone with ideas and a vision to access the funding. We welcome applications by a simple letter outlining the idea and the funding sought.
What our priorities are and how we are doing
We publish this information in The Annual Parish Report and you can attend the Annual Parish Meeting in May.
Our priority during 2021 was to continue with traffic calming for the village, working with KCC on our HIP (Highways Improvement Plan). Traffic surveys were carried out by way of ATCs (Automatic Traffic Counters). The analysis and results of the last survey can be found by clicking on the links below.
With the help of a grant from our KCC member, work to install warning signs at the approach to the crossroads in Mongeham Road and Pommeus Lane and stop sign in Pommeus Lane will be carried out and is scheduled for completion in March 2023.
